  1. Siblings: Six(6) Children in Total – (4 boys and 2 girls). All born while in ministry.

 

  1. Current 2012 marks 43 solid years of dedication following Christ and Preaching his Gospel.

 

  1. Ministry Particulars.

 

  1. 1959:  First Converted – Yanguri Village.

 

  1. 1960:  Baptist Class – Yanguri

 

  1. 1961:  Got Baptised by Missionary Don Mosely in Yanguri

 

  1. 1962: Got Married to Pastor Lady Sekeno Kosu(Yamo)

 

  1. 1963-1966: Bible School –3 years in Samberigi(Erave)

 

  1. 1967: (1967-1972 – 7 Years) Graduated & 1st Posting to Mt Tawa(formerly Puputao)

 

  1. 1973-1978: 2nd Posting to Sopise (7 Years)

 

 

 

  1. 1979-1982: Returns to Yanguri – Yamo recalls of a painful night fall between Sopise and Yanguri sleeping on the roadside with entire 5-member family, under an unsuitable makeshift home with expectant wife, that Yamo recalls as  unbearable and painful experience when wife gave birth to younger brother Maye Yamo named after his mum Mayenu– a sacrifice to God’s Call.

 

  1. 1983: (a) Honenabi in Totomena(Bosavi, Lake Kutubu) – wife rejects on ill conditions of family members due to mosquito manifests an associated health risks acquired during 15 + years of pastoral ministry in the bush serving under risky and unhygienic conditions.

     1983: (b) Niae(Samberigi) – Attempt to send to Niae however fails on similar medical grounds, hence family could not make it.

 

  1. 1984:  Pastor Lady Sekeno Yamo dies, early hours of Sunday 24th May 1984, while dad was about to preach in Yanguri ECPNG Church.

 

  1. 1984-2012: Despite all these humanly unbearable and painful circumstances, the Yamo family still serves God in Yanguri ECPNG Church to this day. 

 

SUPERSTITUOUS AND TRIBAL COUNTER-ATTACKS WHILE IN MINISTRY.

Yamo Recalls Of Various Attacks/Threats as Probable Death Scenes While in Ministry Which He Praises God’s Hands for Saving Their Lives.

  1. 1967: Furious looking death hungry tribal warriors thrusting with wielding axes and spears from a tense local mourning houseman over death of a couple in Kerabi village who allegedly blames Yanguri men to be the alleged killers.

 

  1. 1970/1-: A murderer stands starring me(Yamo) amidst sugarcanes with blood stained axe in a garden between Tiri & Wareke villages – which he was forced to testify the killer alleging him to be the prime eye witness on a condition that if he(Yamo) does not, he be killed or in humanly treated whichever that suits them .

 

  1. 1973-1978: A witch doctor/stone man performs witchcraft or magic ritual on him at a close range but God saves his live by evading evil power from reaching his body.  

 

  1. 1973-1978: Testifies of countable magic acts and food poisoning that but God saved  his life at various occasions,
  2. And many unrecorded instances of death brinks faced by family members during those difficult years in God’s Service from 1959 to this day – year 2012.

Currently, Yamo Peleango is one of the most senior Pastors among others Pastoring ECPNG Yanguri parent church today, simultaneously overseeing hand churches including Koyari and Rou Areke within Yanguri major council ward.

 

At times Pr. Yamo visits Waro and Baliki churches in Marorogo during special occasions such as communion, baptism and Christmas or Easter services to this day.
